Overview |
This 400-year-old coaching inn is located south of Leicester on the old A6, in the village of Great Glen.
The privately-run residence has charming guest rooms, a lounge and a bar serving traditional ales and lagers. An à la carte restaurant serves lunch, dinner and an extensive bar menu.
The village is bypassed and has a peaceful location 20 minutes from Leicester city centre and 10 minutes from Market Harborough and Leicester Races.

The Old Greyhound Inn is a 17th century coaching inn with a bar, lounge, à la carte restaurant and 7 en suite rooms. The Inn is completely non-smoking throughout.
Food & beverage
Full English or continental breakfast is available in the restaurant between 07:30 and 10:00.
Room information
The old stable block has been transformed into 5 double rooms and 2 twin en suite rooms. Please see individual room details for a complete list of facilities on offer.
Area information
In the area you can find an abundance of local walks and bridal paths. The local church is just 300 yards away.
There is a golf course a mile away, and Leicester Horse Races is 3 miles away. Please enquire at the inn about other local activities.
Travel information
The Village of Great Glen is situated just off the main A6 Leicester to Market Harborough. A recent Bypass removed the traffic of the A6 passing through the Village and THe Old Greyhounds front door. We are now just 30 seconds away from the main A6 but a million miles away it seems from the hustle and bustle of traffic and problems.
Important information
The inn’s kitchen is currently undergoing a full programme of refurbishment. Once this work is completed on 14 March 2008, a full cooked English breakfast will be available at an additional cost.
